Planting Instructions for Bachelor Button Seeds
- Location: Select a site with full sun and well-drained soil.
- When to Plant: Sow Todd’s Seeds Bachelor Button seeds directly outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. In warmer zones, fall planting is also an option.
- Soil Prep: Rake soil smooth and remove weeds. No fertilizer needed unless soil is very poor.
- Sowing Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep.
- Spacing: Space seeds about 1 inch apart. Thin seedlings to 6–12 inches apart when they are 2–3 inches tall.
- Watering: Water gently after planting. Keep soil lightly moist until germination (7–14 days), then water only during dry spells.
- Care: Deadhead spent flowers to prolong blooming. Minimal maintenance required once established.
- Bloom Time: Blooms begin in late spring and continue into summer. Plants may reseed naturally.
