- Location: Choose a site with full sun and well-drained, fertile soil.
- When to Plant: Start seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last spring frost, or sow Todd’s Seeds Brussels Sprouts seeds directly outdoors in mid to late summer for a fall harvest.
- Soil Prep: Enrich the soil with compost or aged manure. The ideal pH is 6.5–7.5.
- Sowing Depth: Plant seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep.
- Spacing: Thin or transplant seedlings to 18–24 inches apart in rows 30 inches apart.
- Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy, especially during dry periods.
- Care: Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize once or twice during the growing season with a balanced fertilizer.
- Support: Tall plants may need staking as sprouts develop.
- Harvest: Harvest sprouts from the bottom up when they are 1–2 inches in diameter and firm, starting about 85–110 days after transplanting. Remove yellowing leaves as you go.
