How to Plant Daisies from Seeds

Planting Instructions for Daisy Seeds

  1. Location: Choose a site with full sun and well-drained soil. Daisies tolerate light shade but bloom best in full sun.
  2. When to Plant: Sow Todd’s Seeds Daisies seeds outdoors after the last frost or start indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost date.
  3. Soil Prep: Loosen soil and mix in compost if needed. Ideal soil pH is 6.0–7.0.
  4. Sowing Depth: Sow seeds on the surface and lightly press into the soil. Do not cover, as light aids germination.
  5. Spacing: Thin or transplant seedlings to 10–12 inches apart, depending on variety.
  6. Watering: Keep soil evenly moist during germination (10–20 days). Once established, water moderately.
  7. Care: Deadhead spent blooms to extend flowering. Divide clumps every 2–3 years to maintain plant health and vigor.
  8. Bloom Time: Late spring to early fall, depending on the variety. Daisies are ideal for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens.
