Planting Instructions for Green Pea Shoots in Soil
- Container: Use a shallow tray or pot with drainage holes.
- Soil: Fill with 1–2 inches of organic potting mix or seed-starting soil. Moisten the soil evenly.
- Soak Seeds: Soak Todd’s Seeds Green Pea seeds in cool water for 6–8 hours or overnight to speed up germination.
- Sowing: Scatter soaked seeds densely over the surface of the moist soil. Press gently into the soil, but do not bury.
- Watering: Mist lightly after planting. Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy throughout growth.
- Light: Place the tray in a bright area with indirect sunlight or under a grow light. No light is needed until sprouts emerge.
- Growth Time: Shoots typically germinate in 2–3 days and are ready to harvest in 10–14 days when they are 3–5 inches tall.
- Harvest: Use scissors to snip pea shoots just above the soil line. For regrowth, leave the bottom inch of the stem intact.
- Storage: Rinse shoots and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Best used fresh within 3–5 days.
