Planting Instructions for Thai Basil Seeds

  1. Location: Choose a sunny spot with well-drained, fertile soil.
  2. When to Plant: Sow Todd’s Seeds Thai Basil seeds outdoors after the last frost when soil temperatures are above 70°F, or start indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost.
  3. Soil Prep: Loosen soil and enrich with compost if needed. Ideal soil pH is between 6.0 and 7.5.
  4. Sowing Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep.
  5. Spacing: Sow seeds 1 inch apart, then thin seedlings to 10–12 inches apart once they have 2–3 sets of true leaves.
  6. Watering: Keep soil moist during germination (7–14 days). Once established, water regularly but avoid overwatering.
  7. Care: Pinch back growing tips regularly to encourage bushier plants. Remove flower buds to extend leaf production.
  8. Harvest: Begin harvesting leaves when plants are 6–8 inches tall. Harvest frequently to maintain growth and flavor.
