Planting Instructions for Sprouting Clover Seeds (All Types)

  1. Supplies Needed: Wide-mouth quart jar, sprouting lid or mesh screen, and fresh water.
  2. Measure Seeds: Use 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of clover seeds per jar.
  3. Soak: Place Todd’s Seeds Clover seeds in the jar and cover with water. Soak for 6–8 hours or overnight.
  4. Drain & Rinse: Drain the soaking water, rinse seeds with cool water, and drain again thoroughly. Store the jar tilted upside down at an angle to allow airflow and excess water to drain.
  5. Rinse Schedule: Rinse and drain seeds 2–3 times daily with cool water to prevent mold and ensure even sprouting.
  6. Location: Keep the jar in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Room temperature (65–75°F) is ideal.
  7. Harvest: Sprouts are ready in 5–6 days when they are about 1–2 inches long and have small green leaves.
  8. Final Rinse: Give a final rinse and drain well. Remove unsprouted seeds and seed hulls if desired.
  9. Storage: Store finished sprouts in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Best used within 5–7 days.
