Planting Instructions for Crackerjack Marigold Seeds

  1. Location: Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil.
  2. When to Plant: Sow Todd’s Seeds Crackerjack Marigold seeds outdoors after the last frost, or start indoors 4–6 weeks before the last expected frost date.
  3. Soil Prep: Loosen soil and mix in compost if desired. Marigolds are not fussy and grow well in average soil. Ideal pH is 6.0–7.0.
  4. Sowing Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep.
  5. Spacing: Space seeds or thin seedlings 10–12 inches apart. Rows should be 18–24 inches apart.
  6. Watering: Keep soil evenly moist during germination (5–10 days). Once established, water moderately and allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
  7. Care: Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming. Tall plants may benefit from staking in windy areas.
  8. Bloom Time: Late spring to frost. Crackerjack marigolds produce large, double blooms in vibrant shades of orange and yellow. Excellent for borders, beds, and cut flowers.
