  3. Soil Prep: Enrich the soil with compost or aged manure. The ideal pH is 6.5–7.5.
  4. Sowing Depth: Plant seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep.
  5. Spacing: Thin or transplant seedlings to 18–24 inches apart in rows 30 inches apart.
  6. Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy, especially during dry periods.
  7. Care: Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize once or twice during the growing season with a balanced fertilizer.
  8. Support: Tall plants may need staking as sprouts develop.
  9. Harvest: Harvest sprouts from the bottom up when they are 1–2 inches in diameter and firm, starting about 85–110 days after transplanting. Remove yellowing leaves as you go.
