Planting Instructions for Bunching Onion Seeds

  1. Location: Choose a site with full sun and well-drained, fertile soil.
  2. When to Plant: Sow Todd’s Seeds Bunching Onions seeds outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, or in late summer for a fall crop.
  3. Soil Prep: Loosen soil and mix in compost. Ideal pH is 6.0–7.0.
  4. Sowing Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep.
  5. Spacing: Sow seeds 1/2 inch apart in rows 12–18 inches apart. Thin to 1–2 inches apart as they grow.
  6. Watering: Keep soil consistently moist during germination (7–14 days) and throughout the growing season.
  7. Care: Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer if growth slows.
  8. Harvest: Harvest when stems are pencil-thick or to the desired size. Use scissors or gently pull from the soil. Bunching onions can be harvested at various stages and will continue producing with proper care.
