Planting Instructions for German Chamomile Seeds

  1. Location: Choose a spot with full sun and well-drained, moderately fertile soil.
  2. When to Plant: Sow Todd’s Seeds Chamomile, German seeds outdoors after the last frost or start indoors 4–6 weeks before the last frost date.
  3. Soil Prep: Loosen soil and amend with compost if needed. Ideal pH is 5.6–7.5.
  4. Sowing Depth: Sow seeds on the surface of the soil and press gently. Do not cover—chamomile seeds need light to germinate.
  5. Spacing: Thin or transplant seedlings to 6–8 inches apart.
  6. Watering: Mist lightly to keep soil moist during germination (7–14 days). Once established, water only during dry periods.
  7. Care: Chamomile is low maintenance. Deadhead to encourage more blooms or allow some flowers to go to seed for reseeding.
  8. Harvest: Harvest flowers when they are fully open by pinching or snipping them off. Dry flowers in a warm, dark place and store in an airtight container.
