Planting Instructions for Parsley Seeds

  1. Location: Choose a site with full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil.
  2. When to Plant:
    • Indoors: Start seeds 8–10 weeks before the last frost.
    • Outdoors: Sow Todd’s Seeds Parsley seeds directly 2–4 weeks before the last expected frost. Parsley is cold-hardy and slow to germinate.
  3. Seed Prep (Recommended): Soak seeds in warm water for 12–24 hours before planting to speed up germination.
  4. Soil Prep: Loosen soil and mix in compost or aged manure. Ideal pH is 6.0–7.0.
  5. Sowing Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep.
  6. Spacing: Sow seeds 1 inch apart in rows 12–18 inches apart. Thin seedlings to 6–8 inches apart.
  7. Watering: Keep soil consistently moist during germination (14–28 days) and throughout the growing season.
  8. Care: Mulch to retain moisture and control weeds. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.
  9. Harvest: Begin harvesting outer leaves when plants are 6–8 inches tall. Regular cutting encourages new growth. Harvest in the morning for the best flavor.
