Hey, I’m Todd from Todd Seeds. I’m making this video to answer a question. The question is, are seeds, our seeds checked for pathogen, microorganism, and bacteria from animal excrement? The short answer is yes. All of our seeds are laboratory tested, sent to the lab, very expensive, but we spare no expense in making sure that our seeds have the highest germination rate, are free of contaminants and pathogens, bacteria and contaminants like animal excrement.
Matter of fact, some of the information contained in this lab report indicates how far back we can trace the origin of the seed. We do it right back to the grower. We contract with the growers and have this made. It looks for damaged seed. If too much of the seed is damaged, We won’t accept that lot from that farmer.
We look for insect contamination. We do this through a magnification process of up to 200x, a 200 times magnification looking for insect contamination. We’re going to look for, we do a urine screen, a feces screen. We do all kinds of irrigation water test to make sure that the water used on this seed was free of contaminants and pathogens.
We check for salmonella. We actually do four different types of E. coli tests. Some of the tests are a little obscure, but we don’t want to take any chances at all. We want to make sure the seed that is delivered is as pure as possible. What else do we check for? Oh, that it was stored in a food grade facility on elevated storage.
It was protected for shipping, pelletized, and, and wrapped properly to keep it free from insects. So again, this is some of the most extensive, oh, I’m sorry. We also test for the total germination, the purity of the seed, whether there’s any weed or inert matter found in the seed and our purity really tends to be.
Close to 100 percent 99. 97%. You can’t get much better germination rates 98 to 100%, depending on the load. And we won’t ship seed. We won’t send it to you if it’s not as close to perfect as humanly possible. Matter of fact, when we receive it, after the laboratory testing, we go through our own visual inspection and hand pack.
