Planting Instructions for Greek Oregano Seeds

  1. Location: Choose a spot with full sun and well-drained soil. Greek oregano thrives in hot, dry conditions once established.
  2. When to Plant:
    • Indoors: Start seeds 6–8 weeks before the last frost.
    • Outdoors: Transplant or direct sow after the last frost when the soil has warmed.
  3. Soil Prep: Loosen soil and amend with compost if needed. Ideal soil pH is 6.0–8.0.
  4. Sowing Depth: Sow Todd’s Seeds Greek Oregano seeds on the surface and press lightly—do not cover, as light aids germination.
  5. Spacing: Thin or transplant seedlings to 10–12 inches apart.
  6. Watering: Mist the soil to keep it lightly moist during germination (7–14 days). Once established, water sparingly—oregano prefers dry soil between waterings.
  7. Care: Trim regularly to encourage bushy growth and prevent flowering. Avoid over-fertilizing, which can reduce flavor.
  8. Harvest: Begin harvesting leaves when plants are 4–6 inches tall. Pick in the morning for the best flavor. Use fresh or dry in a warm, dark, ventilated area and store in an airtight container.
